Learn what steps to take if you can't add a card to the Wallet app to use with Apple Pay.

Check that you're able to use Apple Pay:

If you see the message "Could Not Add Card" or "Invalid Card," contact your bank or card issuer.

If you need help adding a card, learn how to 👉 set up Apple Pay.

If you can't add a card to Apple Wallet to use with Apple Pay - Apple Support

The support article in question seems pretty clear to me. There are a number of possibilities that you have to check to see what why the Wallet app rejected your card. For instance, you don't get to add the card to your wallet if your iPhone does not support Apple Pay, if you are living in some country or region where Apple Pay is not supported, or if your bank does not support Apple Pay.

That's why it contains a checklist of things for you to investigate, and links to other support articles to help you with investigating these things.
