I have a 2017 iMAC and I am checking to install a newer Mac OS - currently I have Ventura 13.7. I checked and there do not show any updates and if I try Sonoma from the AppStore it does not seem to work.
It just closes on me.
What gives?

Ventura is the newest compatible system. Sonoma and Sequoia are not supported. See the following from Identify your iMac model - Apple Support
