When can we Expect iPadOS 18 to be released for iPad Pro M4?

There is news. Apple temporarily halted the roll out of iPadOS 18 for the iPad Pro M4. Apple has communicated this last week. The halt in the roll out of the updates is because of a rare issue with the M4 iPad Pro's. Some people reported that their M4 iPad Pro has become bricked after the update. Apple is looking into it now and has halted the update for the M4 iPad Pro to prevent more iPads from becoming bricked

The Apple site still lists iPad Pro M4 as compatible....

I can't use it as my old iPad has 18 installed, so I can't transfer my info to my new one....

and yesterday the senior tech had never heard of this issue....

Check compatibility

You will only see updates that are compatible with your current software version. If you have not downloaded the most current release, you will not see the option to download the latest release.

iPadOS 18 is compatible with these iPad models:

• iPad Pro (M4)
• iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
• iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
• iPad Air (M2)
• iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
• iPad (7th generation and later)
• iPad mini (5th generation and later)

I just got off the phone with Apple senior tech and after 1 hour +, and after I said I thought the problem was ios 18 on my old iPad and the new M4 iPad Pro only. could run 17.7, she was totally unaware of the issue...

Now I have a new iPad i CANNOT transfer all my apps/date from the old one... insane.

Apple, those of us that buy your premium products if not all of us deserve better with this issue. Ok, problems happen and iPadOS 18 on our M4 device not being available is certainly one. I expect you should be over communicating to us while you work this out. Current silence is just not ok.

The iPadOS 18.0.1 update has been released today - hopefully for all compatible models of iPad.

The update should be available to all over coming hours as the update rolls-out to Apple's regional servers.
