No notifications when Apple Watch is charged since OS11

Since watchOS 11, I don’t get notifications on my iPhone when the Apple Watch is fully charged.

this worked fine on watch os10 (and iOS 18) but stopped working since watch OS11.

I tried to toggle the setting off and on under “sleep” in the Apple Watch app and reboot both devices but it still doesn’t work.

anyone else?

if not: it can be a bug?

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 18

I have reported it to Apple in October… but still waiting for the update w/the solution.

me and a friend of mine has detected it as soon as we updated our watch and iPhone to the watchOS 11 and iOS 18 and we are not sure where is the problem (if it is in the watch or in the iPhone) but this is really annoying

I have the same issue on my new Watch 10, which was shipped with Watch OS 11. My old watch with Watch OS 10 always triggered a notification on my phone once it was fully charged, the new one doesn’t. The setting is switched on though in the Watch app under Sleep. I tried toggling that off and on again, but that didn’t help. Looks like a bug to me.

Same story here, I got a new Apple 10Watch for Christmas and my iphone16Pro a couple months back. I was getting Notifications battery fully charged on my old Apple 8 watch and Apple 13Pro then no problems. I tried the re-set it did nothing, checked all my settings they are all correct.

I assume it has to do with software glitch, i hope they fix it Soon.

So has Apple provided any response to this issue. I chatted with Apple and they wanted me to send the watch to an Apple service shop. Since I just bought this series 10 mid Jan so I am not interested in sending it out. I think it is a bug because my settings are correct. I checked that with Apple Chat and I have scoured every possible setting to no avail. Interesting, I do get the message at night when the battery is low to charge overnight but no alert on my iPhone either way. All updates have been done for both devices. Anything you can share will be appreciated.

I have had an Apple Watch since series 1 and I have never received a notification to my phone when the watch is fully charged. Is this a thing??

UPDATE - I just googled it and it says to turn on charging reminders in the sleep app to receive notifications. Maybe that has been turned off during upgrade?

Since iOS 18.0 the function is just not working anymore, for everyone (as we can read here). So swapping or resetting a device (iPhone or Watch) will not fix it unfortunately.

It’s so strange after all the feedback, and knowing that thousands of Apple employees also use these devices, that no one provided a solution or at least admits that there is a bug.

It feels like the functionality just disappeared from iOS for no logical reason.

I bought an extra charger and now charge my watch while I’m watching TV so in less than an hour it’s charged and in that way I don’t forget to put it back on instead of leaving it on a nightstand, with the risk of forgetting to put it on to monitor sleeping.

Update to my original post:

I did a Restore from a Backup from my Previous Watch followed the prompts and this morning the Notifications for "Your Battery is fully charged" has returned.

Initially when i got my new watch 10 i ran it as a new watch, a mistake on my part.

How to Restore Apple Watch from Backup

My experience when you have bedtimes set up (sleep focus) the Apple Watch will send you a notification / early reminder about your bedtime, recommending to charge your watch before sleep.

but still no notification when the watch is fully charged like in prior iOS versions before iOS 18.

it seems that they’ve just removed this functionality (?)

Got the Apple Watch 10 in November 2024 and still have this problem as of January 2025 with both my phone and watch on the latest iOS. Talked to about 5 different Apple support people who forced me through the process of wiping both my phone and watch, setting them up from a factory reset, and re-pairing them multiple times, only to finally be told by an Apple employee today that it’s a software issue and they’re “aware of it.” Would have been nice to know that from the beginning and not be told by every employee that I talked to that I must have the settings wrong! Hopefully they figure it out soon.

Yes, same problem. I bought a series 10 in the last couple weeks. I noticed no alert on my iPhone like I’m used to from my other three iWatches. Now no alert and I don’t know if this has happened since the last updates because my iWatch is so new. I have the sleep setting on. Does anyone know the fix?
