option greyed out for stopping automatic password requirement after sleep mode.

Every time my screensaver kicks in, I have to log back in to my Mac, without the option of leaving this off. I have just upgraded to the latest Sequoia and it is really annoying.

In the Lock Screen area it says 'Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off. It is greyed out to be automatically needed.

If it looks like it is an option, where can I get control back to change it?

This is a stand alone Mac, never used in a work space with other users.
