Yes, that’s correct. iPhones and Apple Watches work in stores and online at merchants that accept Apple Pay. iPads are limited to online transactions.
So, with iPads limited to online shops only... unlike smartphones like iPhone can pay either online or offline shops...
That requires a technology called NFC (Near Field Communication) and iPads do not contain a NFC module. Please review the article I linked to for additional details. 😀
