After iOS 18-Update the Map in Photos-App does not show Pictures from my Mac

The 2nd public “B word” does fix it. Thank goodness. It’s the only reason I moved to it hoping for an early fix!

Same of both our iPads and it sort of works on the iPhones but only shows a limited number of photos , not the total as indicated by the thumbnail. Prior to iOS 18 this function (previously known as Places) worked perfectly.

same thing with me. prevously worked on v17.x. Shows N number of photos on the map (seem to be correct). But when you click on the icon with (eg) 52 photos nothing "No photos of videos". Why didnt you test this before the upgrade to 18

Is this an issue that only affects pictures that are not synced with iCloud Photos?

I’ve been submitting feedback every single time a release comes out, before being official or not.

But if it’s been confirmed this is known, then hopefully we’re almost past this.

I did wonder if there wasn’t much attention being paid to this due to it not affecting people who use iCloud Photos.

But I think it’s too early for comments like that.

Why you ruin our joy. This was the best feature that i use for photos. I keep over 10000 photos on my mac with all gps data in and i could find any photo of mine taken anywhere in the world by using this function. If we are talking about macchu pichu, i used to find photos in seconds.

Why do you broke fine things while trying to add new fency things.

19’th of November, update iOS 18.1.1 still not solved…. Really Apple… unable to fix a very very simple bug…. real stupidity

I’ve just upgraded to the latest M4 iPad Pro and faced the same problem. It only works when ONE photo appears on the map; otherwise, it says ‘no photo or video.’

uh... yes. You see the NY area and have 1000 photos there (icon photo with the number 1000 underneath). Just like the last 5 versions. Try clicking on the icon with 1000 photos ... there is no (zero) photos displayed. There should be 1000 photos displayed. The same on iPhone v18 pro

I've have the same issue. The Photo app went througth a lot of updates and rollback's. When the public iOS 18 arrived i was surprices to se it was still there.

I then remove all my images form the phone and did a re-sync from my Mac .. and here i am .. stucked with you guys and the same issue.

Same problem for me. The map of photos app on the mac works fine, but the map of photos on the iphone 16 pro max and ipad pro m4 that synced with that macbook photos not working.

What is it that's different about what you're doing? Maybe that would be a clue to what you're getting…

I'm using iCloud Photos with Optimize on for phone and off for iPad. I've had iOS 18 since a couple days after the upgrade-- two weeks? The phone is a 12 and the iPad is maybe 4 years old. The maps look the same on my MacBook. What's the difference?

With IOS 18.0.1 the same problem is present with a iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Me too. Not the only issue with photos in iOS 18. Very disappointed.
