How do I enable iMessage?

How do I enable iMessage? All of a sudden, when sending a video and or picture I get a message that says to enable iMessage.

iPhone SE, iOS 17

Go to settings and go under messages then find the iMessage slider button and if it's green then that means it's on and if it's not then click it to turn it on. Hope this helps!
