Brightness Controls no longer working after Ventura 13.7 Update

I was too now i use below code and its auto fixed in each startup ..

using terminal command

pmset displaysleepnow

pmset touch

add this code to automator run shell script and then add the file to login items . That will make brightness work on startup.

I have better fix using terminal command

Yes not received any update. I already update to macos 14. Now ok. No lag. Better than 13. Try itZ

There is an Ambient Light Sensor on the Builtin Camera

If that had become covered or partially covered

Closing the Lid and opening again, may have dislodged what was covering the Sensor ?

Did you try opening and closing the lid? My brightness controls work after doing so (but I have to do it each time I start up the computer now).

My M1 MBA updated to 13.7 has the same problem. And I found many people with the same problem. Obviously, it is a bug of 13.7. Hope Apple release a minor update as soon as possible to fix this bug... It is annoying!

I'm experiencing the same issue on the M1 Pro / 16GB after upgrading to version 13.7. Closing and reopening the laptop laptop cover helps, but it's annoying. Honestly, if it weren't for the security patches, I probably wouldn't update anymore.

I don't want to update to higher versions OSX because they run slower and use more RAM. I produces music and use VMware Fusion for DevSecOps tasks, so every megabyte of RAM is crucial. I think OSX Ventura is the last good (in terms of performance and RAM usage) one for this version of hardware (m1 pro).

Apple: please fix this problem !!!

is it fixed on 13.7.3 update ? using sonoma currently battery is not that good

I tried it and it worked! Thank you! It's just so hassle to always do that every time I start up the laptop. I fear I'm never going to update ever again after this, it's so traumatic. I really thought I was going to lose my mind

same problem, what annoying this, this bug eat my eyes and the battery also. I'm from 13.6 to 13.7. M1 air

screen brightness and keyboard both not working on ambient lighting conditions. so effect higher battery drain. please fix this issue. not thinking to upgrade sequoia, because not smooth as Ventura. waiting to coming security fixes. never going to update again.

Nothing works for me. MacOS 15.2. This is extremely annoying. I do graphic design. I spend more than 12 hours in front of the screen. I want Apple to pay me for all this stress I'm experiencing right now. And there's no word on when the defect will be fixed.

I have the exact same issue. I'm trying to send feedback to Apple, but MacOS 13.7 isn't one of the options in the drop-down menu. :P
