WiFi signal strength constantly dropping on MacBook Air M2 after Sequoia Update

I'm using a MacBook Air 15-inch, M2, 2023. I updated to Sequoia 15 a few days ago and have been having issues with my wifi signal strength constantly dropping or just dropping the connection altogether and then reconnecting a couple of seconds later. This issue mostly seems to happen if I'm not in the same room as the modem/router. I occasionally had minor connection problems before, but never this bad.

I ran a wireless diagnostic test and a "dropped connection" was detected. I also get a "server unexpectedly dropped the connection" or "server can't be found" page from Safari occasionally.

Any tips on how to troubleshoot the issue to narrow down if the problem is related to the update or if it could be something else?
