I had the same issue, but no more.

here are the steps I took:

  1. I slapped the charger onto another iPhone, still on IOS 17, just to be sure it wasn’t a charger issue.
  2. I turned off the impacted phone, then transferred the charger to the back of it, while still active (indicator still on).
  3. The phone turned on automatically and the charger stopped shutting off.
  4. I removed it and tested in 3 more times, it doesn’t trip off anymore.

All you night need to do is just turn off the phone and wake it with the charger.

I hope that solves your problem too .

I have an iphone 13 pro

I had issues when I updated to 18 with charging and battery drain. I HAD to use the apple charger for it (that instantly fixed charging issues) and it took about a day or two to stop using so much battery.

I did the update to fix bugs with 18 today and it wouldn't charge at all with my wire charger and read that I need to wake it with the wireless charger. Wireless is currently the only way to charge my phone now as the wired charger won't work. I'm hoping in a few days , things return to normal.

Charges fine when wired charged, but MagSafe is lucky to gain 2% every half hour..

Apple online tech help went through various solutions to no avail, escalated it to a senior tech, had me download diagnostic information from my phone, sent me to an Apple Centre, who tried everything, wiped my phone and reinstalled from the backup.

Finally, I was told to exchange for a new phone which I did today. Reinstalled from back up et cetera - same issue! Help! (iOS 18, iPhone 16 Pro)

yes u can Downgrade the ios
but not to 18.1 u can to 18.1.1

You cannot downgrade iOS. Claiming that you can is just going to confuse people and cause them to waste their time looking for a way to do something that cannot be done.

and mate it is the Update
read the comments look around in different Forums
APPLE destroyed Phones with this update and should be hold accountable for this. easy
i had no Problems with 18.1 all the BS started with 18.1.1 like if APPLE wants all older phones gone?

It's certainly possible that there is a bug in iOS 18.1.1 – but it is out of line to claim that iOS 18.1.1 is designed to destroy older iPhones and make "all older phones gone." That is a very serious accusation, and if you plan on making it, you need to be prepared to back it up with evidence. Probably in a different forum than this one.
