If I purchase Applecare for a new Ipad bought in the USA, does the Applecare plan work in Ireland?

I'm purchasing a new IPad in the USA and will be going to Ireland and want to check if the Applecare works in Ireland or is it worth purchasing? Thank you!

iPhone 11, iOS 17

If you mean that you're going to be traveling in Ireland for a while and just want to know if you could get coverage while you're there, then yes, most probably you can, though Apple's warranties for the iPad, standard or AppleCare+, are not officially international and coverage can be declined. This is more likely with an iPhone, but in particular an independent Apple service center may refuse coverage under the warranty or AppleCare for any iPad not sold in the country. I've not heard of an Apple Store refusing coverage.

If, however, you mean that you live in or are going to move to Ireland, it would suggest you buy your iPad there. Then there will be no issues with warranty or AppleCare coverage.

As to whether it's worth it to buy AppleCare+, that's really a personal decision. I like the peace of mind that comes with knowing what the worst-case cost will be should my iPad need service or if I should damage it. But others feel differently. Review what AppleCare+ offers and then decide whether it's worth the cost to you.

Regards.
