Edit button missing on my photos in iPhone post iOS 18 update

It wasn't about it being there. It was after update it moves and didn't know how to edit.

It is still there. Open photo from gallery. You will see an icon with 3 dots at bottom centre of screen. Looks like an abacus. That is the new edit photo icon.

I push on the 3 bars and a "inactive loading message comes up on screen with photo im wanting to edit - it never goes beyond that

I had notes on many of my travel photos. Now I cannot see them or edit them or edit photo….please turn this around.

Now no INFO button or heart for “favorite”….this is not working!!

The edit button is at the bottom now a 3 bars you press that

It is true that after the iOS 18 Apple made everything unnecessarily complicated for the Apple Community. They should have at least the decency of sending us an email or some thing explaining how to navigate through this “edit” function disappearing..!!!

Anyhow… here again is what I find out so far, after lots of clicking everywhere 🤦‍♀️ :

The edit function is there, under the 3 lines at the bottom of the screen on our Photos.

Click on the picture to edit

Double click on the 3 lines. An small inverse YELLOW triangle 🔻(sorry, we don’t have in yellow on our emojis) but anyhow is Yellow and it will show on top of the 3 lines.

Then :

A lock 🔒 will show on the right top corner of the screen

Click on the lock 🔒 and be at the lookout for “APPERANCE RATIO UNLOCKED “ (be aware that it will disappear very quickly 🤷‍♀️ you might need to try a few times to get the hang of it) ..

After all this unnecessary steps comparing to our prior and super easy “edit” button , you should be able to edit your pics again. Hope this helps . I’m trying to attach some pictures..!! If I can’t on this post .. I’ll try on the next one .

Absolutely hate this new design. If I mistakenly hit Live Photo I could just go up and choose live off. What the heck Apple!!!!

go back to the easiest solution for the bulk of your users.

The sliders are grayed out - will not let me use it. What now?

Exactly the same thing is on my mind as the previous posters above - why no edit button any more on Photos app

Not on mine I have to go to mark up and then hit the + sign and a few things come up. Text comes up but I can’t change it.

Apple does not care. Hundreds of complaints. No edit period.
