New since macOS Sequoia, the Messages app fails to send or receive when using my VPN (Mullvad in my case). I did not have this issue with Sonoma, and wonder if it might have anything to do with Apple's move to the RCS protocol.
In any event, has anyone else seen this issue crop up? Suggestions for mitigation?

That is probably the #1 complaint with Sequoia.
To fix it, you'll have to turn off your VPN. For some reason, people seem to have a talent for picking poorly supported VPN services. When someone encounters this, they encounter it with every VPN they try. Everything works fine with NordVPN for me. There are many fly-by-night VPN services these days. VPN is a High Scam app.

is the WiFi at the highest point this might be the reason why if not then restart your device. What is VPN?
It would seem, the issue of using Commercial VPN ( Virtual Private Networks ) and Third Party Firewalls has been addressed elsewhere and at length
