How to Resolve iPhone 16 Pro WiFi Connection Problems?

My iPhone 16 Pro won’t even connect to home WiFi.

Super frustrating.

I’ve restarted the phone, reset network settings, restarted my router (Unifi Dream Machine Pro) and no luck.

What a joke.

Have an old iPhone 8, X and 13 pro running on WiFi without issues.

This was my issue. Had a new app from previous phone that created a local VPN. However, since this was WIFI only, it immediately killed the WIFI and then had no way of working. "VPN Status" was not connected. However, once I switched VPN apps, it immediately connected to WIFI.

I’ve been having numerous connectivity issues with 16pro max. Never an issue before. Started with my Watch Ultra 1. I’ve reset it three times. It keeps losing connectivity. It also shows up twice in Bluetooth. Once as “connected” without the ℹ️ symbol. The other as not connected with the symbol. When this occurs, the watch won’t be connected to my iPhone. Find My won’t work nor fitness. A reset or restart works for a few days the. Stops again.

I then noticed drops regularly with my AirPods Pro while doing a fitness session. Today my Beats kept dropping as well.

All of this points to the phone being in common. Devices are all having issues. Could it be the WiFi? All of these devices, if I’m not mistaken, use two connections: Bluetooth AND WiFi. I’ll go ask Apple @ Genius Bar. I just reset network settings and removed VPN configurations, and the watch is now connected again. I’m sure I’ll be unable to reproduce the issue when they look but hoping this is already an issue they are aware of. Stay tuned…

Update…I went to the Apple Store and got a new iPhone 16 Pro (had dead pixel issue on top of the WiFi problems). This did not solve the issue! My home WiFi still does not work. I do not use VPN, factory reset the router, reset all network settings, tried every possible WiFi setting, had a in-person appointment with Apple, spoke to Apple tech support many times on the phone, spoke to my internet provider many times…nothing. All other devices work with home WiFi but the new iPhone 16 Pro simply does not work with my home router. I have no other solutions besides switching internet providers at this point. This is so frustrating!!!!!!

I have similar issues with my iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 18.1 (and 18.0 previous) connected to a Unifi UDM Pro and U7 Pro AP.

Connected to our home WIFI via WIFI7 all network activity stops intermittently a few times a day until I disable and re-enable WIFI on my phone. It will then continue to work for hours before it happens again. The Settings still show an IP address and as connected to WIFI. My router shows the device as still connected as well.

iPhone 12, 13, Google Pixel 8 and other WIFI devices have no issues connected to the same network (albeit WIFI6 or 5).

Very frustrating because you don't even know that you're dead in the water until you try and do something, then you cycle wifi and in flows all of the notifications that you missed.

Same problem 16 pro max. Apple needs do better this is the most underwhelming iPhone upgrade. I will be returning and going bk to my 13 pro max. Battery life also horrific. Also did everything from soft reset to VPN troubleshooting, resetting everything at home. Everyone’s else’s phone is fine, this happens everywhere for w every WiFi. Even if I swipe my screen down to the control panel my wifi spot is blue but above says not connected. Will not allow me to toggle wifi off and on in settings either.

Same think, iPhone 16 connected for a day or so and then "unable to connect to network" despite router reset, phone restart. I'm not running a VPN so that fix doesn't apply. My older devices connect, my Xfinity app shows all network devices working and I WAS able to connect to different network in another building. Any answers besides remove VPN?

My iPhone 16 Pro will NOT stay connected to my home internet. We have a brand new, provider (HBC) installed router and all nine of our other connected Apple and ROKU devices do just fine with it. We do have a NORD VPN.

When the iPhone disconnects (a random and frequent occurrence) it stays disconnected for quite a while- like 15 to 30 minutes- which is kind of frustrating. I have not yet resorted to percussive maintenance, but if I fail to find an alternative, it might come to that.

Does anyone have an understanding of this problem and a solution? I’m at my wit’s end!

None of the VPN or private address solutions have worked for me. It’s so frustrating because I’ve done extensive troubleshooting using other devices and networks and none of it points to a definitive cause.

Apple support wants me to take the phone in for service but won’t guarantee I’ll get a temp replacement which is bs since this is my only phone.

Is there any doubt that this is a software issue that will hopefully be resolved with an update?

Ok…so I have the 2 different bands and the 2.4 works but it is extremely slow. My iPhone 16 Pro simply does not connect to the 5G band. I have tried literally everything and I do not use VPN. My internet provider is Century Link and they are of no help. Apple is of no help either. I was thinking about switching internet providers and going with Xfinity. Did you resolve your issue?
