How to Resolve iPhone 16 Pro WiFi Connection Problems?

I’m continuing to have this issue. I do not have a VPN app on my phone so it’s not that. My phone will say that it is connected to the Wi-Fi with full bars, but everything loads ridiculously slow slowly or not at all. I constantly have to turn my Wi-Fi off to use my phone. I am very thankful that I have a huge data plan that I barely use, because I’m using it now! However, I would really like to resolve this. Sometimes it helps when I restart my phone, but never long-term. Every other device in my home that is on Wi-Fi is working fine when this happens, so I know it is not the Wi-Fi or the router, it’s my phone. Also, I’m generally in the same room as the router.

Fixed it, kinda. It’s not a VPN app (3rd party) issue. I dont have one of them. It’s an iphone Wi-Fi setting. This will disable any private relay (anonymizing of your IP address) you may have asked iOS to do as a privacy measure. So fair warning, Apple is not protecting you while this is turned off, but the alternative is no Wi-Fi. Thanks Cupertino!

Go to settings/Wi-Fi/choose your network you cant connect to and hit the info icon. Then go to private Wi-Fi address and turn off.

I am now able to connect to my Wi-Fibat home as did before just know that I am publicly exposing my IP address.

12.30.2024 Like many here, my wifi shows it's connected to my brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max, but it's not connected. I tried everything on the Apple support page dedicated to this: I’ve restarted the phone, reset network settings, restarted my router and no luck. iOS version 18.2

I see many here had this problem when the 16s first came out (Sept. '24).

Any new info or updates?

I just got my iPhone 16 Pro 3 days ago, I have been a long time Android user and after so many years I decided to give a shot to the Apple Eco system and I am very dissapointed with the issues I have been having on my 16 Pro. It is the Wifi network that keeps disconnecting, my Samsung S23 had no issues with my wifi. Moreover, when I am outside, I keep having Verizon network issuses as well. For example, while watching social medias, it keeps getting stuck in between. Not sure what the problem is, if it was one problem then it makes sense but this is wifi and the Verizon network issues. So Apple have to do somthing about this issues.

It’s your cable/internet service provider. I use private browsing all the time and never turn it off. Here’s my Speed Test results with Private Browsing on.

Is there any difference between a back up to my hard drive vs a factory reset and reinstall via iCloud in this context?

Yes, there is a difference. Using the restore from a backup made on your computer, during the restore process a new version of iOS will be installed, which won't happen with an iCloud restore.

I have the same problem In fact Wendy's Wifi told me I couldn't connect to it!

I sent mine in to Apple it is on its way back to me right now. I'll know Monday if it is fixed!

I bought my iPhone 16 pro max in last couple of weeks. Outside of a WiFi connection I just cannot get on to the internet- it’s hopeless. My service provider Vodafone are puzzled.

Well my replacement iPhone had a problem the e-sim got corrupted and the mobile corporate store had to override it now it works excellent!

Such a let down for an expensive phone I have tried everything. Only works on WiFi. Come on Apple please find a solution

My issue was resolved by updating the firmware of my old router. It seems some old routers with old firmware are not connecting to iPhone 16
