Gaming on my 2018 Macbook Air

I have recently been experiencing crashing issues,so I went to go replace my faulty battery,after that however,I still experienced crashing,typically when I try to run steam games such as terraria,which reccomends 2.0ghz while my macbook only can run up to 1.6ghz.I was wondering whether that would be the reason for my laptop crashing,because it only crashes while I play terraria or just after I played terraria,and whether I should get a new macbook or not.
