Voice Typing removes keyboard

I’ve always loved using voice typing on my iPhone since it first came out. It was so handy—I could use my voice to type a message, and if I needed to, I could move the cursor to a specific word and make changes manually.

But ever since I updated to iOS 18, that option seems to be gone. When I hit the voice typing button now, the entire keyboard disappears. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a way to get that functionality back? I’ve restarted my device a few times and checked the keyboard settings, but no luck so far. What am I missing? I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.
