Blurred video uploads when using Brave browser?

Recently I noticed that whenever I played one of my uploaded videos on a certain well known site, the first 20 seconds would be slightly blurred.

I checked my videos and even re-uploaded some in order to get rid of the 20 second blur to no avail.

Long story short . . . I viewed my videos on Safari this morning and they were sharp from the start . . . go back to Brave and I got the 20 second blur.

I don't think it's a problem with Brave itself but Brave does have it's own ad-blocker.

Is the blur a certain site's way of punishing users of ad-blockers?

Anyone else noticed it?

It could be that Safari leverages the Apple hardware more effectively than Brave, or maybe Brave uses its own decoders which may be less efficient. In order to start playing immediately, a video stream will deliver a low quality version until the higher quality buffer “catches up”. I’ve noticed this with iPlayer (UK) and some other streams.

The effect can vary from video to video and only occurs on mine.

On a short invisibility tutorial I made, the first 22 seconds are blurred before the image jumps into sharpness.

If I immediately jump back to the start it is once again blurred.

I have played the video numerous times over several days with identical results. Surely if I jump back in the video the high quality buffer should be working?

Anyway I can live with it as apparently it does not occur with Safari . . . it's just weird.
