Any suggestions on how to stop podcast from automatically going into the Up Next queue? In addition, they are also being marked just played when they go into that queue. The continuous playback is off and fortunately has stopped, but this is very irritating. To make sure I don’t lose anything I download all of my new releases. Thanks for any fixes. I am updated to iOS 18.

When you finish an episode and it (erroneously) puts an episode as the next to be played, it will also erroneously mark it as played at that point. I’m in the habit of now always checking the episode that is in the player and marking it as unplayed before I do anything else. At some point when I have some time, this will become too painful and I’ll move to Pocket Casts or some other podcasts player. I already looked at Spotify, but it’s lacking some features.

This seems to be a new bug with iOS 18 that many of us are seeing. You can see other posts here on both of these issues.
I’m glad I’m not the only one seeing weird issues in podcasts.
