SSL2 not detected by Macbook Pro M1 2020

Hi,

I have a major issue with my SSL2 device that worked perfectly with 2019 Intel-based MB Pro. After connecting SSL2 via USB 3.0 cable to MacBook Pro M1 2020 the device remains undetected. It receives power as the controller lights are on, but in Sound preferences SSL2 is not listed. Also there's no device connected in USB section of System Information. Help please, as Solid State Logic support is not responding and FAQ on their website hasn't been updated for the last couple of years.

  • SSL2 is just fine, running good with different MB Pro
  • USB ports work perfectly with other devices
  • I already checked different USB cables, nothing changes

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13″

Are you using their proprietary software to manage the SSD or from any other third party? If so, then make sure that software is up to date and compatible with Sequoia and an M-series Mac. It can take developers days, weeks, months, or even longer to update their apps to work with a new major OS version.

Within Disk Utility, click "View" and select "Show All Devices" so that the physical drives appear on the left pane of Disk Utility. You should also be able to view the physical drives in the Apple System Profiler under the USB or Thunderbolt section. If you don't see the physical drive, then you likely have a hardware or connection issue, but if you see the physical drive, then it is most likely a software issue.....generally speaking assuming only macOS is managing the drive, things get tricky when using third party apps & drivers to manage a drive.
