That phone, introduced in September 2016, originally ran iOS 10. You can update it to the latest release of iOS 15. You cannot update it to iOS 16 – let alone to the new version of iOS, iOS 18.

You can check to see if there is an available iOS 15 update as follows:

Tap Settings > General > Software Update

The most up to date version for your iPhone is iOS 15.8.3
