Turn off app icon on apple watch

When I use media apps on my iPhone, the app icon keeps showing on the top of my Apple watch.

I wish to turn this feature off for some apps. Is this possible?

in the latest apple watch update how to you close out apps you have used? normally to close out apps on apple watch series 8 you would click side and app would show up then you would slide it and click an x . can’t do that at all with the latest update . I don’t know if the apps are automatically clicked off or what? don’t want to run my battery down

If you open the WatchApp on your iPhone, tap on Smart Stack, you can control which apps can display "Live Activities" on your watch, and which ones should be mirrored from the iPhone. Or disable this feature completely.

You can also do that directly on your watch in the settings for Smart Stack.
