Brave downloads vanish after update to iPadOS 18.0

After the update, when downloading files from Brave on my iPad Mini 5, they’re supposed to go to a Downloads folder, but they never appear there. The folder stays empty. See image below. Also note: downloads appear when I use Safari, but Safari is a substandard browser, so I don’t want to use it as my main browser.
