All music is gone from my iTunes

I clicked on iTunes last night. A window popped up saying I needed to create a folder for my music to go into. I clicked cancel, iTunes opened and everything was gone. No play lists, no libraries, no music, movies or apps. I closed iTunes out, reopened and created a folder like it prompted. Still, no music. Where did it go???????????

Welcome to AD!

Check your PC's hard drive. The music is probably still there. Sounds like the itunes database file got damaged somehow, though.

iTunes has to have a file named iTunes LIbrary.itl (the database file) to run. If it can't find one, it creates a new blank one. It's a good idea with ANY program to make backups of its important files. I back up that ITL file about once a week.

So...are the music files still there on your PC's hard drive? If you don't know where to look, start with this article.
