Are iMac compatible to Wi-Fi connection?

I just ordered a new iMac, I’ve been buying Apple laptops for a good 15 years. This is the first desktop I’ve tried. I won’t have it until a week or so but didn’t think about needing to hook it up to a modem because I’ve always had a laptop. My question is, if I want to place the desktop in my office/room but my modem is in the kitchen, what do I do? Thanks for any suggestions!

It is the same as connecting to you local Wi-Fi network with your laptop.

Yes, your new iMac is compatible with Wi-Fi. Apple has been including Wi-Fi as a standard feature on all Macs – desktops and laptops – for well over a decade.

All versions of the 24" M3 iMac support Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) "in countries and regions where supported".

Your iMac might - or might not – have an Ethernet port. Apple only includes one of those on the four-USB-C-port versions of the 24" M3 iMac.
