Adding photos to the featured album IOS 18

I added the photos widget to my Home Screen. The featured photos that were featured were just two photos of a random screen shot. I found I can delete them from the featured album, but now I just have a black screen where the featured photos should be. When I look at the photos widget on the home screen it’s just a black box. Is the ‘add photos to feature’ something that was taken away with the new ios18 update, or has it never been there. Frankly, it’s stupid to have ‘remove photo from feature album’ and ‘feature this person less’ as only options. Where’s the ‘feature this person more’ and ‘add photo to feature album’ option.

Can someone from Apple help or will I just get a kind citizen. I really don’t want to have to book an appointment at an Apple Store just to talk to someone about this. It seems quite unnecessary.
