Does selecting
Format->Math Results->Off
help?
No. You can simply not use it.
It's just a bit of a pain when dimensions are noted and the intention is not for equation solving. It requires pressing Esc instead of Space.
So, don't get me wrong. Maths in Notes is handy for sure, but there are times it gets in the way.
Just do not use Notes to solve equations, use Calculator
Though, it would seen pointless to Disable this feature, if it were possible
@luis: Bingo! Thank you. 👏
@dialabrain: I wasn't trying to use Math Notes at all, that was my point. They were getting in the way until I figured out how to workaround them.
@PRP_53: What's non-metric? 😉 But, yeah, using something a leading or trailing marker was a workaround. It is curious that maths worked fine with metric units in the equations. 👍

I guess I still don't understand what you were/are doing. The Calculator would have to be in Math Notes mode to get in the way.
FWIW, it sounds like you are trying to use Math Notes in a way not intended. You're welcome to post an example of what you are trying to do.
I do see what you mean
Perhaps if using Non Metric dimensions symbols ?
Though, doing so will not provide a calculation
I just realized what your initial question was about. And yes, Luis had the correct solution. :)
