Updating from Yosemite to Big Sur
I’m having a major issue with my iMac Retina 5K 27-inch (Late 2014). My husband wiped everything, and it was previously running macOS Big Sur 11.7.10, but now it has reverted back to OS X Yosemite (10.10).
Here are the problems I’m facing:
- I can’t connect to the App Store to download any updates or macOS Big Sur.
- Many websites don’t open or function properly on this old OS.
- I’ve read that some people recommend updating to macOS High Sierra or another OS first before jumping to Big Sur, but I’m unsure of the best steps to take.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can restore macOS Big Sur or get my system updated from Yosemite? Any guidance on whether I should update to an intermediate OS first would also be helpful!
Thanks in advance!
