Messages not showing on CarPlay after iOS 18 update

Exactly. This is ridiculous, unsafe and is going to cause people to quit using CarPlay at all.

Send your complaint to Apple or call them to complain. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

We need this bac. I agree. A safety issue The only thing I can get it to do is read the message out loud. Sometimes you don’t want people in the car to hear

i have spent over an hour going through settings trying to fix the message pop up. Thanks to everyone that has posted here because I just figured out that it must be in the update.

I would up having to set up Siri again to hear my voice. I think the latest update wiped out the settings.

With the new os update. Text don’t appear in my car

The ringer on your phone has to be turned on, if it’s on silent it will not make the alert noise.

You need to report this to Apple through their support app. They need to know that is happening on several manufacturers. That’s the only chance we have of them fixing this issue.

But why? What purpose does this serve? Did Apple explain why they did this?

its by design, they stated it was for safety reasons but it’s really because they want you in their ecosystem.

Exactly my issue, spent 2 hrs with BMW GENIUS with no fix. It's an Apple issue related to the update.

I found that they quit showing due to me having Face ID required turned on for my messages and phone. When I turned that off they showed back up in CarPlay.

Yes, I am and I’m furious! This change should be optional. WTH!! What’s next.. asking if we can talk on the actual phone? AH’s!

My grand daughter told ne I had to gave my info set to apple play. I did see messages fir a week and now no matter what I do I don’t have a clue when a text comes through
