I am profoundly disgusted with the very fact that it seems all MBAs after 2017 have a serious problem with the camera quality. I have the MBA 2020 and let me tell you all that if you want to buy a laptop, do not buy MacBooks Air if you worry about your camera quality in today's virtual world. The camera is insanely grainy even in good lighting. It is embarrassing to have to pay so much money for this laptop to end up with a camera that seems from the early 2000s. To have this issue from Apple is almost unprofessional.

Is there any possible way to fix this? Other than reseting the SMC?

That's a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020). According to its specifications, it has a 720p FaceTime HD camera.

I suppose that if you are unhappy with the camera, you could get an external USB Webcam. If you have an iPhone, another possibility might be to use it as a Webcam for the Mac (Continuity Camera).

According to MacTracker, the M2 and M3 MacBook Airs have 1080p FaceTime HD cameras.

I do not know how these compare to the earlier 720p FaceTime HD cameras in terms of ability to take good photos in low light, but it looks like there was a camera upgrade since the release of your MacBook Air model.
