I recently updated to MacOS Sequoia and iOS 18, setup iPhone Mirroring and it worked perfectly for a day or so. Now it just says "An error occurred. Please try again" every time I open the mirroring app. I was able to get it working again after restarting the phone. It again worked for a session and stated throwing the same here.

THIS! My error was occurring because my new iPhone 16 pro was activated and restored using my previous iPhone - since they have the exact same name, it appeared to have the correct phone selected to use for the new mirroring application. However, once I clicked the dropdown, it listed BOTH of my "iPhone.z8x" - but the second one says "iPhone 16 pro" next to it. The old phone was selected.

I also got this after upgrading to iOS 18.0.1. I've tried rebooting both devices and even signing out and back in on my Mac. I can't seem to reset access as that "fails" too.
Edit: Updating my Mac OS to 15.0.1 seems to have fixed the issue.
Update: Its working after the update dropped to macOS 15.0.1 and iOS 18.0.1
Nevermind. I just updated my Mac from 15.0 to 15.0.1 and resolved the issue.
Had the same issue even after update so I went to iPhone Mirroring settings > Reset iPhone Access, do the set up process again and it works. Just in case.

Have you tried a data connection to see if your firewall rule may be the culprit?
If the firewall is beyond just the wifi network, then could you remove the device from your iPhone, then sign out and back into iCloud on the Mac?
None of the solutions described in the forums worked for me, so I went to Reset iPhone mirroring credentials. Originally it failed too but then I found a workaround:

I'm on iOS 18.0.1 and macOS 15.0.1. But, I'm still seeing the problem on my corporate laptop. Might there be a firewall rule that I should undo (but cannot because the laptop is locked down by IT)?
