I have this problem also - but I think I know why. Despite Apple saying that this only requires Sequoia and IOS 18, they don't mention that your Mac has to have the M1 or greater chip, not the Intel chip that many people still have. Obviously, Apple is in it to sell hardware, so you won't be able to do iPhone mirroring without going to a newer Mac.

You can check your system...go to the Apple Icon at the upper left, choose "About This Mac". On that subsequent screen, if it shows your CPU/Processor is an Intel, you are out of luck when it comes to mirroring. I refuse to upgrade right now because mine isn't that old, it performs well and it's a 27" screen. Apple doesn't make anything near that anymore (only 24") nor can you get a very extensive configuration like you could in the past.

Anyway, that MAY be the reason you can't do the mirroring.

Im having the same issue plus a new 'feature'. Hand off no longer works between my mac book pro (M1 Max Sequoia 15.0.1) and iphone 16 pro (18.0.1).

I had the iphone 13 pro a few days ago and updated all my software between mac and iphone. hand off worked fine before then. After update, i set up iphone mirroring and that worked however hand off between Mac and iPhone stopped. I also have an iPad that handoff still works on just fine.

I received my new iphone 16 pro a few days ago and set it up. Completed full xfer between phones. Now iPhone mirroring doesn't work at all. I've rebooted both iphone 16 pro and mac book pro several times. ensured the iphone 13 no longer has access even to wifi & blue tooth.

I've logged out of icloud, rebooted, logged back in. I'm super frustrated :(
