Placing 'RECENT' in it's original position

This computer is new to me and it has very usefull programm called' recent'.

When I first opened it, it openend from the left hand margin.

After turning off the iMac and and switching it back on, unfortunately it is no longer situated in the left hand margin - that is it's perfect place for me.

Can you help placing this back in the left hand margin ?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

How do I find recent files in Mac Finder?

View the Recent Items list: Choose Apple menu > Recent Items, then choose the file from the list (if it appears there). In some apps, you can choose File > Open Recent (or something similar) to see a list of recently viewed files. Some apps may show a list of recent files at the bottom of the File menu instead.

And thanks to Daniel Medina..

If you can't or don't want to upgrade your system, you still can achieve this by creating a smart folder with Finder.

  • Right click the Finder in the Dock
  • Select New Smart Folder, a finder window will show up with some options to choose.
  • Press the plus button at the upper-right corner
  • Select Last Opened at the drop-down
  • Select 'This Mac' to search in all computer
  • Save your smart folder. When saving, make sure 'Add to Sidebar' is checked.
  • It will be saved and you have it at your sidebar.
  • If you want to have it at the dock, just drag the item from the sidebar to the dock.
  • Enjoy.
