M1 Mac Studio Max Slow Startup

Ever since updating to Sequoia 15.0, my M1 Mac Studio Max has taken its own sweet time to start up, and will often hang up on shutting down for...minutes at a time. I'll get to the login screen, log in, and get the background but nothing else, and can't right-click on the screen for anywhere from 45 seconds to two minutes! It's frustrating to have bought a Mac because I was sick of that kind of behavior in Windows, only to see my Mac doing the same all of a sudden....

Most likely you have some incompatible 3rd party system modification software.

So what could have been compatible with earlier Mac OS but is incompatible now? All I can tell that I'm running that might fit is Express VPN or NTFS for Mac (because I have an old Windows NTFS drive I run as a backup).

I've seen many people report problems with ExpressVPN, but that is unlikely to result in slow startup times. I don't know about NTFS. However, I'm willing to bet that you have a lot more running in the background than you can tell.
