Word Documents missing

i had saved some word documents in July and trying to access them, only to realise i cant see any document for July, i can june and then august but none for july 2024.

please help.

Pages doc lost (tried everything to recover it) Hello, When updating pages, I lost the last modifications to my pages document. It represents hours of works. I was working on the cloud, I thought it was the best way to make sure my doc is safe. But I was wrong. When they asked me to update Pages, I didn't do it at first and I continued to work for hours. Then I had a message telling me the doc isn't sync anymore. I was connected to internet but still didn't sync the doc. So I pressed "Cmd + s" and started the update of pages. When I launched it again, all the changes were gone. I thought it wasn't that bad, there a copy somewhere, in a temp file or using "restore previous versions". But I was surprised to see my doc hasn't any previous versions, even I'v been working on this donc for months. Here is a screenshot. I tried some apps to recover lost files, I tried going to my iCloud docs. There is nothing to be found. It's probably definitely lost, and I'm very angry at apple for not having any kind of backup for safety when updating the Pages app. Of course my Time Machine wasn't configured, it could have saved me. But since it's made for local docs, I'm sure it would have helped for docs in the cloud. My error are : I thought every time I pressed cmd + s I had a local copy saved. When I pressed it, I had no message telling me it didn't worked, so I assumed everything was fine. I also regret not checking I had no previous versions available, why so ? Please help me recover lost Pages documents A few months ago I started getting a pop-up alert when opening Pages documents "Can't Collaborate. To collaborate, you'll need to use Pages on iCloud.com or Pages on a newer Mac." After researching further I was informed that this is related to the inability to update to the newest iOS available due to having an older MacBook Air. Though frustrating, it did not seem detrimental until the past few weeks where I noticed that despite manually saving the documents, they will intermittently revert back to a VERY OLD version which I am assuming is the originally saved document prior to any edits. Two of the documents in question resulted in several hours of lost work, and I am devastated with the thought that these are permanently lost despite every effort to back up my work including manually saving them and syncing between iCloud and Google Drive. It may or may not be relevant to include that throughout the course of the day I have been able to open and re-open these documents which reflect the edits/most current version including a letter I have been working on for the past two weeks (including Monday), but upon opening it today I realized that all of my content was missing other than the few lines included when I first started and saved the document. Why is this happening? Is there any chance at recovering all of the content? How do I prevent this from being an ongoing issue? Why would the document appear to have saved content throughout the day only to delete everything other than the original content? I sincerely appreciate any help with this because I am almost in tears at this point. I am not worried about collaboration, I just want Pages to function in a normal and reliable manner as to avoid hours or lost time and effort-and "saving" a document should result in the document actually being saved rather than deleting all content. Andrée In addition to the two alerts mentioned and included in screenshots below, another pop up which states "you are offline but can still edit" appears which I do not understand since I am not offline--but once again, I will just be satisfied with the ability to save my documents locally without a concern for lost work.

Lost Word document, help Hiya community, I have just finished a Eulogy expecting it to be saved as normal save processes followed during work being created, I've shut the job down and now cannot found this four document only the original two page draft doc, any ideas on how I can find this 'lost' document. App V 16.77.1

Did you have a Time Machine backup? If yes, try the following to recover missing Word documents on Mac:

1.Connect the Time Machine backup drive to your Mac.

2.Enter Time Machine.

3.Go to the folder where you store the Word documents.

4.Open the Word document, select a version.

5.Click Restore.

Also, you can log into www.icloud.com, check if the missing Word document is stored in your iCloud Drive, in the case that you’ve enabled iCloud sync on your Mac. If you cannot find the missing Word document, check out Data Recovery as follows, select the file from list, then restore:

You just need to select the hard drive where you stored the document, then scan, preview and recover the file. However, it is not 100% guaranteed that your document will be recovered. A deleted file will be only gone forever when there is new data overwrites the deleted document, therefore, you should recover the files as soon as possible.

thank you so much for the response, no i do not have a time machine back up, and i have looked in my Icloud drive. but will continue to look through if i can recover the missing documents for that particular month.
