I have the same issue. However, the problem does not occur is a groups. Some groups have White Text in Dark Mode, other have Grey Text. Main FB page is correct.
I checked it with Firefox. All is good. So it must be a Safari Issue.
It is a very weird issue.

Facebook will fix it. They are known for fixing one thing and breaking 2 others, so give it a day or 2. The same thing happens with their app updates. It is not specific to Safari 18 and there has been no updates to Safari 18 since the original Sequoia release, so it would have been happening all along.
Same for me... it's definitely a Safari thing, other browsers don't do it.
And it's not just new versions of Safari - I'm running Safari 15.6 and it does it, and I tried on another machine running Safari 16.something and it did it on that too.
My main home page is fine, and most groups are too, but some groups are not (the biggest one I admin annoyingly) and I am now finding a few more groups have - which were OK - are now no longer OK... the grey text fungus is spreading.
A pain in the arse.
Me too... only since upgrading to Sequoia/Safari 18 and only on Facebook groups. Selecting the relevant text makes it readable but its a major pain
Yes, that is logical - you are correct - it has to be FB that changed something.
And - today - much to my surprise and delight - FB was normal again, so they must have changed something their end
It is happening with Safari 17.5 and 17.6 and is recent (within the last week). So I don't think it's necessarily a Safari 18 version issue. I think FB changed something. That said it isn't a problem with Chrome.

That confirms that it is a change that Facebook has made a change on the backend of their website and the fix will have to come from Facebook.
Safari 15.6 was released in 2022 and you just started having the problems. The Facebook Help Center is here, but unfortunately getting direct support is nearly impossible.
This is driving me crazy too - thanks for confirming!
Yes... I can confirm it all seems fine for me today to
