Can't boot after Sequoia Update
Just get spinning wheel when signing in. Over an hour now. Time is not correct on screen either. Tried repairing and re-loading update. Same thing.
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.0

Do not spend any more time trouble shooting this issue
Once this type of software is installed >> Norton Security Software
Once it becomes Embedded into the computer " Start Over from Scratch "
You can spend hours or days hunting down all the bits and pieces of this software and never really get it all off the computer
For Apple Silicon computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.
For Apple Intel computers >> Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac followed by How to reinstall macOS
Always make a Time Machine Backup before proceeding
If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate everything back.
This will probably Re-Introduce ( Norton Security Software ) back into the Operating System

If MacOS won’t load in safe mode, than it’s probably not a 3rd party app issue. Perhaps there was a disk corruption when doing the install. Try doing disk repair from recovery mode. Ref: How to repair a Mac disk with Disk Utility - Apple Support
You can also reinstall MacOS from recovery mode without losing your data.
You can try running Apple Diagnostics to see if there's some other hardware issue - ref: Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support
Can you startup in safe mode or restore mode?
Please call AppleCare. If you are in the USA it is (800) 275-2273 and they will help. By the way do you have and of the types of third party apps installed :
Ifso that is the issue as these types of apps are totally worthless and potentially damaging to Mac OS.
If you are getting to the login screen and able to enter your password and then the freezing happens, I found a fix that worked for me that may help you:

Not if you have been using Time Machine Utility
Would suggest Only Migrating the User Account and nothing more.
Whatever is in your User Account ( Home Folder ) will be part of the TM Backup
Just Do Not migrate Applications for the reasons already mentioned
Good idea I must admit
Though the real issue is the Third Party Security Software>> " Norton " install and used on the computer
No
The only thing I have installed is Norton, and it has never been an issue.
I will call them today. Thank you.
Norton is a big problem for many... doesn't normally srart out as a problem, but soner or later.
So basically I am going to lose everything I had on the mac, correct?
Much appreciated but too late. I already wiped it.
