Confused about maximum display resolution of iMac 21.5" 2019
Hi,
My Late 2013 iMac 27" has just failed, and I'm looking to replace it with a used iMac which can natively run both Mojave (because I still use some Mojave apps) and the latest OS, Sequoia. I've settled on either the 27" 2019 iMac 19,1 model, or the 21.5" 2019 iMac 19,2 model.
Ideally I'd get the 27" (I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a reasonably priced one), but a used 21.5" is currently available, and I'm wondering if it will be sufficient for my needs. I recognise it's not as powerful, but I'm OK with that, but my main concern is that the screen resolution is big enough.
I'm used to a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution on my old iMac 2013, and my hope is that the 4096 x 2304 of the 21.5" iMac 2019 will actually mean I can fit more on the screen (a good thing), but I'm not sure if this is the case, as it's a Retina screen.
My question: Does the 21.5" iMac 2019 maximum resolution actually allow more on the screen than my old 27" iMac 2013? Can anyone please provide a screen grab from a 21.5" iMac 2019 at it's maximum resolution for comparison purposes?
Ultimately, if the 21.5" iMac 2019 fits more stuff on the screen than my 27" iMac 2013, then I'd be happy, even though things would presumably appear smaller than I'm used to on my old iMac 27" 2013.
Thanks.
