As of TVOS 18, the aerial screen saver no longer allows finding the name of the clip currently being shown. Instead, pressing up on the remote switches to a screen saver changer system for selecting which screen saver to use.
I can’t replicate your issue (tvOS 18.0).
At the change of an Aerial clip, the location description shows for 5 seconds in the lower left corner, as before.
When soft tapping (not deep clicking) the center Select button, the location description would show once more for 5 seconds, as before.
Pressing left or right would show the previous or next clip.
Swipe up or press up works only on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later) to switch to another screen saver category.

touch control is disabled
That I can confirm; ‘Click Only’ would also disable the screen saver function that relies on ‘Click and Touch’.
Then I guess there's no tap interface if touch control is disabled outright, as I do because both my parents and I would frequently mistrigger the touch controls trying to operate the click wheel.
