Sometimes I press my lock button then put my phone in my pocket. When I go to get my phone out it’s already unlocked and the home screen with all my apps is showing or an app is already open.
I’ve made sure the option to unlock with my watch is off and when putting my phone in my pocket the screen is off/locked away from my face.

So I just looked n settings as I was confused by this as well Apparently there’s an “Always on display” feature in display and brightness. Which is what we are experiencing. You can turn it off. And the screen will go black when you hit the Lock Screen button. Cheers!

The issue I was experiencing wasn’t related to the always on display feature, but it does seem to be resolved in iOS 18.1
Experiencing this as well. It seems like, with the thinner bezel, my fingers slightly touching the screen on the edges is overriding the lock button, which seems backwards to me. Hit it also only happens sometimes. Has to be an easy fix, but not sure how it was overlooked.
I’m experience this on my iPhone 16 Pro as well. Sometimes I’ll watch as I lock and I see the visual effect of the button being pressed on the screen, but it doesn’t lock.
Yeah have the exact same issue, looks like it’s software related.
