Sorting photos chronologically

I have an iPhone 11 w the most recent software update and am unable to sort my photos chronologically - specifically photos that have been shared via airdrop. I’ve checked that dates/times/ and time

zones all match but the airdropped photos don’t integrate w the existing ones. Frustrating.

I don’t have a sort option under the (…) in my recents or albums and I can’t find a way to do it thru the phone settings either.

Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Apple's pre-built views like Recents and Library offer a set presentation that can't be changed. But albums that you make yourself can be sorted by date as well as allowing you to drag pictures into the order you like. In iOS 17, I think that I remember that sorting is under the 3 dots. In iOS 18 there is a little up-down arrow button at the lower left.
