How do I get rid of the hidden app folder in the App Library?

How do I get rid of this hidden app folder in the App Library. It’s so suspicious and unnecessary. I don’t want this on my phone and I feel like apple is encouraging a culture where people lie hide and cheat. Help me remove this.

This folder cannot be removed, but that may change in the future if apple decides to update based on feedback posted via https://feedback.apple.com. Since this is just a community discussion thread, this answer is the most any of us random folk can do for you or others with the same problem. Please do send feedback to apple on the issue. If it becomes a big enough request, they might actually make a change.

as someone who does have apps inside the hidden folder, is there any way we can hide the folder in the app library bc even though it’s hidden it’s still visible in the app library and still easily accessible

is there any way we can make the app hidden and the app library as well hidden for the purpose of hiding things

No, but it does require using a passcode or your Face ID to open the folder. No one but you should be able to get into your phone unless they know your Passcode. If someone does know your passcode, change it.

so can u plz fixed it ,the hidden app folder only visible in settings .please

That would be the case if the Hidden Folder only appeared when you hid an app, but since it is always there and everyone has it on their device, it means absolutely nothing.

It works the same way as the Hidden folder in the Photos app. Just because it is there does not mean that you have hid a photo and everyone has the Hidden folder in the Photos app.

Here is the problem with the hidden folder:
I installed the WashPost app and it went to the hidden folder.
It took an hour to find it. I knew it was installed, but it didnt appear on any screen.
Googling on my laptop for hidden folder on iPhone, I found out how to find the hidden follder:
swip left 3 times then it appears at the screen. click and drag back to your main screen, and the problem is solved.

Never had an app install in the Hidden folder. Of course you can hide an app by Press/Hold and choose the option to require FaceID/Touch ID or Passcode, along with Hide App. If you did not do that, then it is more likely that someone else who knows the Passcode to your device did it, whether it was intentional or somehow accidental.

There is also a Hidden folder in the Photos app on all devices. Just because it is there does not mean you have anything hidden and will also require FaceID/TouchID to view. That folder has been there for years, much longer than the Hidden Apps folder.

I want it gone because my husband assumes I’ve got things in it. I don’t and have to show him. This is not something I asked for but is now here and I want an option to remove the folder completely!

Given you are seemingly obligated to share your password, and seemingly obligated to defend against assumptions of mistrustfulness, the central issue here seems to not be technical, with no lasting technical solution.

Even if you here got what was requested, I’d expect other issues and other concerns to arise.

Is there somebody you can privately discuss your current situation with? A trusted friend or relative?

Tell him you are not hiding any apps and show him if you wish. Hidden apps will still show in your Settings when viewing your Purchase History, so there is a record of what apps you have downloaded. This would actually be more reliable for an untrustworthy partner, because not only would it show any apps that may have been hidden, but would also show apps that you have deleted.

This is a “him” issue, not a “you” issue.

There will always be something available to cause that turmoil, too.

In addition, he has a Private Space on his Android device. The option for the Private Space is visible on the phone whether it is used or not and the only way you would know if there is anything there is by signing in with a completely different Password.

It seems there is much more going on here then simply having a Hidden App folder on your phone, which can be easily viewed with the Passcode on your device. I suspect he has that to view the info on your phone, so he can view the Hidden folder anytime he wants.

You seem to miss the point. Yes if you want to hide things from your family or friends it is a useful tool but many people do not want to do that. They have open relationships and do not want to create conflict by being presumed to have something to hide.

Such conflict can lead to domestic violence and make people, particularly females, feel unsafe.

Likewise, parents will also not be able to monitor their children’s activities and in this corrupt day and age of on-line grooming having apps that are hidden means that they may not be able to keep their children safe.

I see nothing wrong with having the app should one wish to hide things from their family but I think it would be better if the folder could be switched off and removed for those of us that have nothing to hide
