Apple Pencil1st generation Battery charging

How to save battery when apple pencil 1st generation when not in use. Like do i have to keep charging even when I am not using the pencil? Will unparing the pencil stop battery charge reduction?

It's best to keep it disconnected from your iPad. Unpairing the Pencil will help reduce battery drain, but you don't need to keep charging it constantly. Just charge it occasionally to maintain battery health, especially if it's not being used for long periods.

However, avoid letting it fully discharge for extended times, as this can damage the battery

Rechargeable lithium batteries, not just the ones used in the Apple Pencils, need to be left charged (not necessarily fully charged) if they are going to be stored for a significant amount of time (think months, years.) If left nearly or fully depleted, they risk the chance that they will lose their ability to be charged.


... so yes, you should periodically charge all of your devices that use rechargeable lithium batteries.
