Double Text Messages Sent From My iPad

Hello, all. When I send a text message or respond to one sent to me, I primarily use my iPad.

Anyone, someone that I exchange text messages with recently told me they are receiving my text messages twice. Basically, if I respond to them, or send them a text message, they receive my same text message twice. (NOTE: This person is an Android phone user.)

This is the first time someone has told me they receive double copies of my text mesages.

I am curious: Is this an issue on my end or theirs? I am not doing anything different with my text messages. Just responding to them as I always do, or sending one.

The only thing different about my iPad recently is the recent update to iOS 18.

Anyway, I have no idea whether the double text messages issue is something I can fix on my end, or if there is something going on with the Android user’s phone.

Has anyone experienced this?
