macOS Sequoia Macintosh wallpaper getting stuck

I have recently updated to macOS Sequoia. When using Macintosh wallpaper (Macintosh Spectrum)and the new wallpaper have issue. It works for some time sand then It gets stuck at some point and works as a static wallpaper. Wallpaper will randomly stop moving even in screen saver or just going to to the log screen. Changing to different wallpaper and then setting it again make it work for some time, and the stucking continues...

I am facing the same issue. I like the wallpaper but whenever it stops moving dynamically and becomes a static wallpaper, I feel like why Apple even bothered to go to such extreme efforts to develop these things when they won't even work at all in the public release.

Apple please fix this!

The fix that's seemed to work for me (🤞🏻 so far) is to set the Screen Saver to "Macintosh" (whichever colour option you like) but turn off the "Show as wallpaper" option. Then go to the Wallpaper settings and set the wallpaper to "Macintosh" and make sure that the "Show as screensaver" option is turned off.

Although counter-intuitive, setting them independently with these options turned off has worked so far. Not sure if it matters but I have "Show on all Spaces" turned on for both settings. I also upgraded to 15.1 earlier this week so that may have something to do with my success here.

OOOOOKAAAY! 2024 14" M4 Pro MacBook Pro got stuck! I had it open all day at work, not plugged in, and it was going on the screensaver fine until just now -- IT GOT STUCK!

So folks -- this bug does not discriminate. It isn't Apple trying to get you to upgrade, in case that ever crossed anyone's mind... and yes, a still photo probably wasn't the best thing to capture this issue with... my bad!

I can't believe this is still unaddressed in macOS 15.3 🫠

The amount of time I have spent going in and out of the Wallpaper settings to temporarily fix this...

Complete speculation, but I suspect using Desktop Spaces has something to do with it. I know not many people use that feature, and might explain why most aren't affected by this bug... but I refuse to stop using them.

this happens to me too. its really annoying. I just bought the MacBook Air m3 and use it with one external monitor. This never happened to me with my old MacBook Air M1...it's weird that with an older chip my computer had a better overall user experience. when the screen saver starts they often are out of sync. most of the time the screensaver becomes completely static...I have to restart my computer to fix this... but as soon as my M3 MacBook Air goes to "sleep" then wake it up that's when the problems begin.

I' ve also noticed that when opening the computer it takes some time to turn on the display. that never happened with the M1 MacBook Air. my older MacBook turned the screen way faster.

Apple please fix this ASAP!!!

Same here. I'm only using the screensaver though, not as a wallpaper.

In my case, I'm on a Mac Mini with a single monitor.

I'd recommend anyone who's not done so already raises this using Feedback Assistant. The more it's reported, the more chance there is of it being fixed.
