How do I get Safari v18 for macOS Sonoma (14.7)?

I just upgraded the OS on my 2020 Intel iMac (iMac20,1) from Ventura 13.6.9 to Sonoma 14.7 -- which I downloaded from the App Store.

I assumed I would also be able to upgrade Safari from 17.6 to some version of Safari 18, but so far, I have been unable to do so. When I look at System Settings > Software Update Available, the only item which is available is Sequoia 15.0. And I don't find Safari in the App Store, so how do I get Safari 18 for Sonoma 14.7?

Oops, nevermind. After a Restart, the option to upgrade to Safari 18.0 appeared in Software Update, so all is good.

First check what Safari version you are currently running.

Open the Safari Menu and click on About Safari

If it's not Safari 18, go to System Settings ➜ Software Update, and there should be a section titled "Other Updates" below Sequoia.

Safari 18, should be there.

It should look something like this:

If there is no option there, then there is no available update currently. You may need to wait and see if the Safari 18 update appears eventually, or just bite the bullet and upgrade to Sequoia.

Thank you. What you describe is what I expected to see, but...

"About Safari" is showing my current version as 17.6, but when I go to Software Update, it shows Sequoia as the only option -- there is no link for "Other Updates" under Sequoia.

... Yet Apple's Security Releases page <Apple security releases - Apple Support> shows Safari 18 should be available for Sonoma:
