I can't get out of my apple TV plus after choosing the app on my samsung home screen,. I used to chhoose the icon and get into apple TV with all my other apps. Now I'm only getting the smart apps from Samsung. I reboot and SOMETIMES that works. Do I need to get into apple TV another way?

The Apple TV+ is an App on your Samsung TV. It has no other apps in it.
Your Samsung TV has apps of its own unrelated to the Apple TV+ app or the Apple TV box.
If you mean you used to access a physical Apple TV box, that had other Apps installed separate from your Samsung TV, then check you have the correct input selected for the Apple TV box, and that its correctly plugged in to an HDMI port on the back of the Samsung TV.
The Apple TV box is a separate device, and is not directly tied to the Apple TV+ app on your Samsung TV.
