Lock Screen App Audio Not Working

I often fall asleep listening to shows by staring the show in the streaming app (Hulu, Max, etc), then locking my phone or iPad and hitting play on the Lock Screen. Stopped working a few days ago, now when I lock the screen, the Lock Screen shows a generic grey device icon with no ability to play audio. Both my iPad and iPhone are doing it, running ios17. None of the streaming apps will play audio from the Lock Screen. Any ideas?
