Suddenly, my wife is unable to sent a text msg to our daughter (who doesnt use an apple device. The popup message says the device is not registered. I’ve searched the Community and the fixes say Systems>Apps>messages (which is dated 2021 and doesnt show up on iPadOS 17.6.1
is there a different procedure to register a non-apple device phone umber in 17.6.1 in 2024?

Your wife needs an iphone to enable text message forwarding so she can text on her ipad.
Thanks. She has an iphone (and a MacBook Air). One thing i need to check is that all three are logged in under the same apple ID
